Built along one of Sri Lanka’s pristine beaches in southern Bentota, AVANI Bentota Resort and Spa offers guests with a great experience and comfortable, luxurious stay. The Geoffrey Bawa-designed hotel features spectacular views of the Indian Ocean and promises a great vacation not to be missed.

Accommodation

AVANI boasts 75 stunning rooms and suites, all of which have been built with a private balcony or terrace facing the Indian Ocean and the beach. The rooms are equipped with modern amenities such as air-conditioning, safe, tea and coffee-making facilities, a mini bar, IPTV and a DVD player, free WiFi, and a bathroom with a rain shower and designer Spa Ceylon toiletries, ensuring guests have a perfectly comfortable and relaxing stay.

There are five types of rooms: Standard Room: This room features a balcony offering a great view of the ocean, and promises an idyllic stay. Kick back in bed and watch a movie or relax whilst reading a book, with the ocean breeze keeping you cool.

Superior Room: Offering more space, the Superior Rooms also feature a balcony facing the ocean.

Deluxe Room: Promising a luxurious experience, the Deluxe Rooms come with a spacious lounge and balcony or terrace areas with ocean views. Pop in a movie, sip on some coffee, or just soak in the bathtub with a book – the options are
endless!

Suite: Boasting of a private balcony with two sun beds, it just what you need to gain the maximum out of your vacation. Soak in the Jacuzzi spa after a tiring day out, and treat yourself to an espresso from the in-room espresso machine. If you’re feeling too lazy to step out for meals, you have the option of in-room dining in the luxury and comfort of your bed or couch. Wine, fruit and chocolate will be provided upon arrival too.

AVANI Suite: Spend all your time in your luxurious suite. Relax on the private sundeck, watch the gorgeous sunset with soft orange hues, or let the hours pass by in the Jacuzzi spa. You can spend lazy afternoons reading in the lounge, and opt for in-room dining, where you can feast on a variety of meals at the dining table.

Dining at AVANI
5DN_1264AVANI Bentota serves up fantastic cuisine for its guests. Be it a simple meal of rice and mouthwateringly delicious curries, or fine dining at the Frangipani restaurant, you can be assured of having your taste buds tickled. Breeze Restaurant: AVANI Bentota’s main restaurant features a sumptuous breakfast buffet every morning consisting of local specialties such as milk rice, freshly steamed string hoppers, crisp hoppers, warm coconut roti alongside seeni sambol, pol sambol, lunu miris, chicken curry, fish curry and potato curry – the trimmings of a fine Sri Lankan breakfast! Toast, jam, cold cuts, sausages, and freshly baked breads and pastries also are available in addition to cut fresh fruit and fruit juices – perfect for starting your day. Come noon, feast on rice and curries for lunch, or even salads and spaghetti and wind off with dessert.

Frangipani Restaurant: Tucked away in a quiet corner of the hotel, and facing a small pool, this restaurant features exotic Asian specialties and is open just for dinner. The warm and relaxing ambience in the evening makes for a private dinner with your loved one or with family and friends. Chatters Bar: Wind down at the bar, sipping on a cocktail or chilled glass of wine and bar snacks before heading out for dinner.

Leisure and recreation at AVANI
Take a dip in the pool, or long walk on the beach during sunset. Guests can also try out the different water sports on offer at the hotel. Choose from a range of specialised treatments at the AVANI garden spa, where you can be assured of a completely relaxed experience.

Sightseeing
5DN_1088The towns of Hikkaduwa and Galle are not too far from Bentota. Opt to take up water sports in Hikkaduwa or hire a glass-bottom boat, swim with sea turtles, go snorkelling or scuba diving. Spend a few hours inside the historic Dutch Fort in Galle, with its beautiful cobbled streets and myriad cafés, restaurants and shops. The Dutch Fort is home to the Maritime Museum – a must visit – and a few historic churches and mosque. Watch in awe, as boys leap off the cliff of the ramparts into a shallow bay of the cerulean blue sea, and swim back to the shore as fast as they jumped off.
