Isipathana, who had a great game in their first outing, gave an excellent display both in attack and defence and after the turnaround played in the same manner as during the first half to keep the fighting Thomians at bay.

S.Thomas opened the scoring when flyhalf Yehan Bulathsinghalage slotted in a 35 metre penalty to go in to a 3-0 lead.

The Pathana lads grabbed the lead when winger Chamidu Chirath scored the first try of the game and the conversion was missed by fullback Malith Botheju but soon went into an 8-3 lead through a 35 metre penalty put over by winger Rinesh Silva.

Immediately winger Rinesh and Soorya Dodangoda scored two quick tries and Malith Botheju fired across both the conversions where Pathana went into a 22-6 lead which stood at halftime.

After the turnaround, the Peterites increased their score to 29-6 when Praveen Jayakanth scored a try and Boteju made the conversion.

Finally, the gallant Isipathana College bowed out worthy winners by 29 points to 13 when Thomian winger Hakeem soon made impact, breaking the line to see him dived over for a consolation try after a few phases. Bulathsinghalage slotted in the conversion.
