Kandy Girls’ High School Old Girls’ Association (Parent body) made a contribution earlier this year towards the construction of a Cadet Room at school premises. They also co-ordinated the work and gathered support from their members towards the project. The main benefactor of the project was a past pupil and member of the Old Girls’ (Parent) Association Ms. Kareema Marikar and her family as they made a donation of Rupees One Million for the construction of this Cadet Room as a tribute to the cadets of the Platoon of Kandy Girls’ High School who won the most prestigious De Soyza Challenge Trophy at the 2018 All Island Championship held in Rantambe. This feat was achieved for the first time in the 140 year history of Girls’ High School. This was officially declared opened on the 24th of January 2019.
