Prefects Day, titled “Ceilao’19”, took place on the 30th of November 2019 from 9 am to 6.30 pm, and was centered around reconnecting the youth with their Sri Lankan identity.
The 8 schools in attendance were first addressed by the guest speaker of the day, Ms. Thaji Dias, a locally renowned dancer, and performer. This session was followed by lunch and then the much awaited games.
Schools were divided into teams and engaged in a fervent competition that tested their skills, knowledge and ability. The friendships created within those few hours were so strong and the games played were so exhilarating, that even the rain failed to dampen the mood.
Finally, as the victor of the day’s activities was declared and dinner was distributed, PD 2019 was declared a massive success by all those present.
